Everybody has a dream destination, which they would love to visit if they had a chance. Some do make it to theirs while others do not. Many Americans would love to visit the famous island of Hawaii. This volcanic piece of paradise has many smaller islands like the Big Island and great holiday destinations such as Waikoloa. These places offer an unforgettable vacation experience for tourists unlike no other. This is because it offers many fun activities.

Every year, over eight million tourists are expected to visit Hawaii for the holidays. Of these over sixty percent will be Americans arriving from the mainland. Most visitors average about nine to ten days in this magnificent island and then depart. They spend over fourteen billion dollars in these trips, which makes tourism the biggest economic activity of the state. If they are lucky, these visitors get to visit some of these destinations and enjoy what they have to offer. Some of the reasons people visit are discussed below.

During the process of planning a vacation one of the main things, which people look for is the weather. This is because nobody wants to leave home only to go stay indoors while on vacation in another country. Hawaii registers good weather all year round. It has a dry summer and wet season but the temperature mainly remains relatively steady all year long. Rain showers help to keep the place green and lush. Every island has a designated area where sunshine reaches daily throughout the year. In addition, trade winds offer a cool breeze especially in the afternoon.

The people of Hawaii are very welcoming and generous. The main reason is that their culture promotes the aloha spirit which require them to be welcoming to visitors and strangers. In fact, this is a law throughout the land. In addition, every household has a family member who works in the tourism sector, which is the main source of income.

There is a rich source of culture present due to the many groups of people living in this state. Every resident is considered a minority. These are the Hawaiians from Polynesia, Filipinos, Japanese, Hispanics, Chinese and Caucasians. These people came to the island originally to work on pineapple and sugarcane plantations. Almost twenty five percent of residents are of mixed ancestry.

Hawaii has many sandy beaches. It boasts of four hundred beaches that are public as well as seven hundred miles of pure shoreline. One can find many beaches of different colors like white, red, green and even yellow. No other place destination in the whole world can offer these amazing sights and experiences. Always swim in the presence of an experienced lifeguard.

The island has many different ocean activities that tourists can partake in while on vacation. These include sports like surfing, windsurfing and boogie boarding. Others include scuba diving, snuba and snorkeling. If one wants to stay dry there, are many sailing tours, zodiac raft tours, whale watches, deep-sea fishing and parasailing.

The state has many famous traditional cuisines that are mouth watering. These come in many different delicacies that are significant in every ethnic culture represented in Hawaii. Regional cuisines are made from different flavors and tastes. These are specially offered by food tours. Many restaurants offered other foods as well.
